Ravenna Trollbooth
Creations in clay and found objects
Home page: Welcome
The Ravenna Trollbooth
Gregory Engel
Over five hundred creatures have come to populate the Ravenna Trollbooth since a century-old maple tree fell at the site in 2004. The broad, flat stump in front of my home in Seattle's Ravenna neighborhood has become a world unto itself; an invitation for neighbors and passersby to pause for a moment and engage with another dimension. Beyond the Trollbooth itself, my home has become a gallery for my ceramic work, celebrating the unique opportunities of clay, incorporating found objects from the places where I've lived and traveled. Drop by and explore.
Everything you imagine is real.
